Love is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 and fronted by Arthur Lee. Known for being one of the first racially integrated American rock groups, Love blended garage rock, folk, and psychedelia into a distinctive sound. Although their commercial success was limited, the band is highly regarded for their influential 1967 album Forever Changes, which is often cited as one of the greatest albums of the 1960s and was later added to the National Recording Registry. The band’s classic lineup included Arthur Lee, Bryan MacLean, Ken Forssi, Johnny Echols, and Alban Snoopy Pfisterer. Following numerous lineup changes, Lee continued with Love into the 1970s. In more recent years, guitarist Johnny Echols has kept the band’s legacy alive, performing with touring groups such as the Love Band and Love Revisited.
