Manu Dibango was a Cameroonian musician and songwriter renowned for blending jazz, funk, and traditional Cameroonian music. A master of the saxophone and vibraphone, he gained international fame with his 1972 hit "Soul Makossa," widely regarded as the most sampled African song ever. Dibango is recognized as the most sampled African musician in history. He passed away in 2020.
