As a hobby drummer, I think it's perfect. I still have to get used to its menu system, but in every other respect it's impeccable. Several people have written that it's uncomfortable: don't expect the same experience as a regular drum kit, but the price isn't that high either! The pedals often slip during play, but that can be fixed. The volume is also adequate, it works well with 2 guitar and a bass combo in the room - these are under 100W. Its small flaw is perhaps the many outdated/useless sounds that the dog won't use; however, as far as I know, when connected to a computer, its midi bank can be modified, which is great. The hand percussion mode is especially good, you can really spice up your game with it. When I looked for the stuff, I only found smooth-jazz videos online. I was a little worried whether it would hold up in a harder style, but I wasn't disappointed! I managed to create a doubler using a smaller setting, and it works quite well in a sludge, stoner style world.
