Modus was a Slovak band formed in 1967 in the former Czechoslovakia by Stanislav Hrda, Ján Baláž, Peter Krutek, Juraj Czinege, Tomáš Bery Psota, Ľubomír Stankovský, Gabriel Wertlen, and Miroslav Žbirka. The group began by performing popular hits from the 1960s before shifting direction after Ján Lehotský joined in 1972 and took on a leading role. Modus reached the height of its popularity between 1976 and 1980, releasing acclaimed albums such as Modus and Balíček snov, marking the era known as Modusmania.
