Monsta X is a South Korean boy group formed by Starship Entertainment through the reality survival show No.Mercy. The group consists of Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. Originally a seven-member group, Wonho departed in 2019.
Debuting in 2015 with their first EP Trespass, Monsta X quickly gained attention for their high-energy blend of hip hop, EDM, and pop. Their aggressive sound and bold stage presence have earned them a reputation as "Next Generation Beast Idols" and influenced the fourth wave of K-pop. The group has achieved significant success, with multiple Korean albums certified platinum and several Japanese singles certified gold. In 2020, their first English album All About Luv reached the top five on the US Billboard 200. Monsta X is recognized for breaking musical boundaries and challenging genre and gender norms within the industry.
