Black Star is a hip hop duo from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 1996 by Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli. Named after Marcus Garvey's Black Star Line, they are known for their thoughtful lyrics and social commentary. Their debut album, released in 1998, is widely acclaimed in hip hop circles. After years of solo projects and collaborations, Black Star returned with their second album, No Fear of Time, in 2022.
