Muse is an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The group is made up of Matt Bellamy on vocals, guitar, and keyboards; Chris Wolstenholme on bass and backing vocals; and Dominic Howard on drums. Known for their powerful live performances and innovative sound, Muse blends alternative rock with elements of classical, electronic, and pop music.
Their debut album, Showbiz, was released in 1999, introducing a dramatic and emotional style. Success grew with their second album, Origin of Symmetry, showcasing wider instrumentation and energetic performances. Muse achieved their first UK number one with Absolution in 2003, followed by a string of chart-topping albums. Black Holes and Revelations expanded their international reach with hits like Supermassive Black Hole, while later albums such as The Resistance and The 2nd Law explored ambitious themes from politics to science fiction.
