Percussion Sticks | page 2
Percussion sticks include brushes, mallets and special beaters for cajon, gong, singing bowl, xylophone, marimba, timbales and effect percussion. They are not only standard drumsticks: the right head shape, hardness and material noticeably change the contact with the instrument and the final sound. When choosing, compare whether you need a softer rounder tone, a clearer attack or sensitive quiet playing.
- For cajon, choose cajon brushes or lighter brushes that respond well to hand dynamics.
- For gong and singing bowls, choose a softer felt or rubber head with a larger contact surface.
- For xylophone, marimba, timbales, cowbell and effects, check head hardness, handle length, weight and the material of wood, rattan or plastic.
