Periphery is an American band from Washington, D.C., known for merging progressive metal and metalcore with the innovative djent sound. Formed in 2005, they are recognized as pioneers of djent within the progressive metal scene and have earned a Grammy nomination. The lineup features vocalist Spencer Sotelo, guitarists Misha Mansoor, Mark Holcomb, Jake Bowen, and drummer Matt Halpern. Periphery self-produces all their music, which includes several acclaimed albums and EPs, showcasing technical musicianship and experimental songwriting.
