Randall Diavlo RD45H

After trying the more powerful 100w version, I decided to give the smaller version a chance. The box is quite solidly made, the amplifier is visually very nice. The sound is a bit worse - the clean channel is surprisingly great and beautifully clean on its own, it sounds like a fender. But distorted is no longer a glory. I gave up trying to tweak the sound of the small "high gain monster", as presented by the manufacturer and the community, after a while. In my opinion, the bass potentiometer does not bring any extra noticeable difference in sound, and the bass is also quite vague. Gain (more like crunch) is only usable between 12-14h, at less it is more like a clean channel with overdrive, the amplifier can't handle more and "bubbles". To achieve a more aggressive sound, it would probably be necessary to kick the preamp with some kind of tubescreamer. Overall, I have to say that this is a nicely made product that neither thrilled nor offended me personally, but I firmly believe that due to its versatility and especially the price/performance ratio, it will find its fans.
