Roger Waters

Roger Waters

George Roger Waters, born in 1943, is an English musician and songwriter best known as a co-founder and bassist of Pink Floyd. After Syd Barrett left in 1968, Waters became the band's main lyricist, co-vocalist, and creative leader, steering Pink Floyd to international acclaim with albums like The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut. He left the band in 1985 after creative disagreements and later launched a successful solo career with albums such as The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking and Amused to Death. Waters is known for his ambitious live shows, including the massive The Wall concert in Berlin in 1990, and for his outspoken political activism, particularly his support for Palestine and criticism of Israeli policies, which has sparked significant controversy. He has continued to tour extensively as a solo artist and remains a significant figure in rock music history.
