Saga is a Canadian rock band formed in Oakville, Ontario, known for their blend of progressive rock and melodic hooks. The group was shaped by the songwriting partnership of bassist and keyboardist Jim Crichton and vocalist Michael Sadler. Over time, Saga experienced many line-up changes, with guitarist Ian Crichton and Jim Crichton remaining constants on every album. Michael Sadler contributed to nearly every release, while keyboardist Jim Gilmour joined in 1979 and drummer Steve Negus played with the band until 1986. Saga gained international recognition, earning gold and platinum albums and selling over eight million records worldwide.
