Annie Chancel, born on August 16, 1945, is better known as Sheila. She is a prominent French pop singer who rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s. Sheila achieved success both as a solo artist and as part of the duo Sheila and Ringo with her then-husband, singer Ringo. In the late 1970s, she also led the disco group Sheila and B Devotion. Her stage name comes from her debut single, a French cover of Tommy Roe’s song Sheila. Over her career, she has sold more than 85 million records worldwide, making her one of France’s best-selling artists.
