Singular Sound BeatBuddy 2 Stompbox

The Singular Sound BeatBuddy 2 is a hands-free drum machine in stompbox format, delivering studio-quality 44.1 kHz / 24-bit sound with 13 HD drum kits and 200+ songs across 23 genres. Two onboard footswitches, full-size MIDI I/O, expression pedal support, and Autopilot mode enable solo performers to control fills, transitions, and tempo in real time without a drummer.

  • Inputs and outputs include 2 x 6.3 mm TS, 2 x 6.3 mm mono outs, 6.3 mm TRS headphones, plus 5-pin MIDI IN/OUT
  • With the included 4 GB Class 10 SD card, you have storage expandable up to 32 GB for as many as 3.2 million songs.
  • The compact pedal measures 12 x 15 x 7 cm and weighs 615 g, fitting easily on any standard pedalboard.

BeatBuddy 2 — Hands-Free Drum Machine Stompbox for Live Performance

The Singular Sound BeatBuddy 2 is a stompbox-format drum machine that puts a responsive, studio-recorded drummer under your foot. With 13 HD drum kits (4x the sound capacity of the originals) and more than 200 songs across 23 genres pre-loaded, it gives solo guitarists, worship leaders, and buskers a real-time rhythm section they can trigger, fill, and end with simple taps. Two onboard footswitches handle intro fills, transitions, accent hits, and song endings without menu diving. On the 2.4" TFT color screen, the current beat remains visible to keep you locked in on stage.

What Sets the BeatBuddy 2 Apart

Autopilot, an intelligent automation engine, manages part lengths, fill timing, and song endings independently, letting the player improvise freely when inspiration strikes. This model also accepts the proprietary SuperSwitch (a 6-button multi-controller) and standard expression pedals, allowing two players to control tempo, volume, and velocity dynamics simultaneously with both feet.

Audio Engine and Sound Library — Studio-Grade Playback

Each drum hit is a non-quantized, multi-sampled recording captured by professional drummers in studio sessions, so fills avoid sounding mechanical. The audio engine delivers 44.1 kHz, 24-bit true stereo output, with the 4 GB Class 10 SD card storing default content and expansion possible up to 32 GB, supporting up to 3.2 million user-loaded songs.

  • Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
  • Bit Depth: 24-bit
  • Drum Kits: 13 HD kits included, expandable to 320
  • Expanding the SD card to 32 GB lets you create a custom library of drum patterns for any gig or session.

Connectivity and I/O — Drop-Into-Any-Board Integration

Designed for modern pedalboards, connectivity includes two 6.3 mm TS audio pass-through inputs to maintain guitar signal flow, and two 6.3 mm mono outputs for stereo amplification, FRFR speakers, or studio monitors. A dedicated 6.3 mm TRS stereo headphone jack with its own volume knob is included for silent practice, while two 5-pin MIDI ports sync to external gear such as the Singular Sound Aeros looper or any MIDI Maestro controller.

  • Inputs: 2 x 6.3 mm TS (L/R passthrough), MIDI IN
  • Outputs: 2 x 6.3 mm mono (L/R), 6.3 mm TRS headphones, MIDI OUT
  • Multiswitch Ports: 2 x 6.3 mm TRS (SuperSwitch / Expression Pedal)
  • Digital Dry Through bypass ensures your original signal is preserved even when the pedal is engaged.

Controls, Power, and Form Factor — Built for the Road

Five top-panel controls — Drum Set, Volume, Phones Volume, Tap, and Tempo — provide all necessary live adjustments without menu access. The 2.4" TFT RGB display (240 x 320) shows on-screen button labels so the next function is always clear. Power is supplied via the included 9 V DC adapter at 300 mA. With dimensions of 12 x 15 x 7 cm and a weight of 615 g, plus a recessed SD slot and on/off button, setup and teardown are quick for gigging musicians.

  • Controls: Drum Set, Volume, Phones Volume, Tap, Tempo
  • Screen: 2.4" TFT RGB, 240 x 320 resolution
  • Power: 9 V DC, 300 mA (adapter included)
  • The form factor allows for easy integration into your travel or studio rig, so you can take reliable drum grooves anywhere.
