What to watch in a snare pad

A mesh surface feels more natural and is usually quieter, while a rubber pad is simple and durable. A dual-zone pad can separate head and rim hits, which helps with more realistic playing. If you are expanding an existing kit, compare the connector and rimshot support in the module, not only the pad diameter.
