Soundtracks

Vinyl soundtracks are LP records featuring music from films, TV series, video games and musicals, and customers also search for them as film music or OSTs. Here you'll find Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and The Godfather, alongside music from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and the game Minecraft. Most were released on 12-inch records, with many on coloured vinyl or as limited editions. You can choose by title, by composer or by whether you want the original recording from the film.

If you like the music from one film, explore its composer's other work too. These composers have distinctive styles and several records in the range.

The original film recording or a new orchestral version?

The label O.S.T. or Original Soundtrack means a recording released directly for a film or TV series. Records such as Music From The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy or The Complete Harry Potter Film Music Collection are different: their music was newly recorded by the orchestra The City Of Prague Philharmonic. They sound close to the originals, but they are not the recordings heard in the films, so check the performer's name when choosing.

An Image Album for a Studio Ghibli film, such as My Neighbor Totoro or Princess Mononoke, is music composed before the film was completed. Musicals come in two forms: a stage cast recording, such as Hamilton or Wicked, and music for the film version, for example Wicked: The Soundtrack.

Why does one film or series have several records?

TV series release music by season, so The Witcher and The Mandalorian have a separate record for each season. Film sagas follow a similar pattern: The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King were each released on two LPs, and The Lord of the Rings collector's box contains 14. Before you choose a record, check which instalment the music belongs to.
