Spazz was an American powerviolence trio active from 1992 to 2000, known for their fast, aggressive sound and a distinctive sense of humor. Their music featured unusual elements for hardcore punk, including audio samples from B-movies and kung fu films, long nonsensical song titles, and occasional use of hip hop beats, saxophones, and banjos. Collectors prize their releases for their rarity. All three members shared vocal duties, often switching line by line, and the band mainly performed at all-ages venues. In 2015, a tribute album to Spazz was released by Scotland’s Mind Ripper Collective, and in 2016, Tankcrimes reissued some of the band’s key albums.
