The Spinners are a legendary American rhythm and blues vocal group that originated in Detroit, Michigan in 1954. Known for their classic hits and smooth harmonies, they rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s, especially with producer Thom Bell. Their music, released under names like the Detroit Spinners and the Motown Spinners, became well-loved on both sides of the Atlantic. Even after the retirement of the last original member in 2023, the group continues to tour. The Spinners have been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as inductions into both the National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
