Carlos Coy, born October 5, 1970, is an American rapper known as SPM, short for South Park Mexican. Raised in Houston's South Park neighborhood, he drew on his Mexican heritage for his stage name. After a troubled youth, he began his rap career in 1994 and co-founded Dope House Records with his brother in 1995, releasing his debut album Hillwood the same year. In 2002, Coy was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child and is serving a 45-year sentence at the Ramsey Unit in Texas. Despite his incarceration, he has continued to release music.
