Static-X is an industrial metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1994 by Wayne Static and Ken Jay. Known for blending heavy metal with elements of industrial and nu metal, the band gained widespread recognition with their platinum-selling debut album Wisconsin Death Trip in 1999. Throughout the 2000s, Static-X released several more successful albums including Machine, Shadow Zone, Start a War, Cannibal, and Cult of Static, selling over three million records worldwide. After a brief hiatus and the passing of Wayne Static in 2014, original members Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay reunited in 2018 to honor Static’s legacy. The band released Project Regeneration Vol. 1 in 2020 and Project Regeneration Vol. 2 in 2024, continuing their signature blend of aggressive riffs and industrial sounds.
