Steve Hackett is an English guitarist best known for his innovative work with the progressive rock band Genesis from 1971 to 1977, contributing to several key albums before launching a successful solo career. He released his first solo album, Voyage of the Acolyte, while still in Genesis and later formed the supergroup GTR with Steve Howe, achieving a US chart hit with "When the Heart Rules the Mind." Recognized for his pioneering guitar techniques, Hackett has influenced musicians such as Eddie Van Halen and Brian May. His solo work spans progressive rock, pop, blues, world, and classical music, and he continues to release new albums and tour internationally. In 2010, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis.
