Stryper is a Christian metal and heavy metal band from La Mirada, California, featuring Michael Sweet on vocals and guitar, Oz Fox on guitar, Perry Richardson on bass, and Robert Sweet on drums. Originally formed as Roxx Regime in 1983, they soon shifted their focus to Christian-themed lyrics and adopted the name Stryper. Known for pioneering Christian heavy metal, they broke into the mainstream with albums like The Yellow and Black Attack and the platinum-selling To Hell with the Devil in the 1980s. After a series of acclaimed releases, the band disbanded in 1993, only to reunite in 2003. Since then, Stryper has remained active, releasing new music and touring, marking their lasting influence on both Christian and metal music scenes.
