Suicidal Tendencies is an influential American crossover thrash band formed in 1980 in Venice, California by vocalist Mike Muir, who remains the group’s driving force and only original member. Recognized as pioneers of the crossover thrash genre, they helped blend hardcore punk and thrash metal, rising to prominence with their 1983 debut and the iconic single Institutionalized. After a brief split in the mid-nineties, Suicidal Tendencies returned with renewed energy, continuing to perform and record new material.
