Survivor was an American rock band from Chicago, formed in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. Rising to fame in the 1980s, the group is best known for their hit Eye of the Tiger, which became the iconic theme for Rocky III and topped the US charts for six weeks. Initially led by vocalist Dave Bickler, Survivor found further success with Jimi Jamison, releasing hits like High on You, The Search Is Over, Burning Heart, and Is This Love. After a hiatus, the band returned in the 1990s and continued to perform with both Bickler and Jamison until Jamison’s passing in 2014.
