The Kooks are an English indie rock band from Brighton, formed in 2004. Led by Luke Pritchard and Hugh Harris, the band draws inspiration from the 1960s British Invasion and the post-punk revival, blending rock, Britpop, pop, reggae, ska, funk, and hip-hop. They broke into the mainstream with their debut album Inside In/Inside Out in 2006, which became a multi-platinum success. Known for catchy melodies and energetic live shows, The Kooks continued their success with albums like Konk, Junk of the Heart, Listen, and most recently 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark, released in 2022. The group has received awards recognition, including winning Best UK and Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards and a nomination at the Brit Awards.
