The Posies were an American rock band formed in 1986 in Bellingham, Washington by Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow. Known for their melodic sound rooted in Merseybeat and influenced by artists such as Hüsker Dü, XTC, Elvis Costello, and Squeeze, The Posies became a staple of alternative and power pop music. The band disbanded in October 2021 after allegations of misconduct were made against Ken Stringfellow.
