The Script is an Irish soft-rock band formed in Dublin in 2001. The current lineup features Danny O'Donoghue as lead vocalist and keyboardist, Glen Power on drums and backing vocals, Benjamin Seargent on bass, and Ben Weaver on guitar. The band was co-founded by Mark Sheehan, who played guitar and provided vocals until his passing in 2023. After relocating to London and signing with Phonogenic, the group released their self-titled debut album in 2008, which reached number one in Ireland and the UK and produced hits like "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" and "Breakeven." Their following albums, including Science and Faith, Number 3, and No Sound Without Silence, also topped charts and featured well-known tracks such as "For the First Time," "Hall of Fame," and "Superheroes." Later releases, like Freedom Child and Sunsets and Full Moons, continued to build their international popularity. The Script released a Greatest Hits collection in 2021. Known for their emotional songwriting and radio-friendly sound, The Script's music has appeared in various television series. Lead singer Danny O'Donoghue also served as a coach on The Voice UK for two seasons. The band has received multiple music awards and has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
