The Upsetters were the house band for legendary Jamaican reggae producer Lee Scratch Perry. Named after Perry’s own nickname Upsetter, inspired by his track I Am the Upsetter, the group played a key role in the development of reggae and dub. Their energetic and innovative sound helped define Perry’s influential productions throughout the late 1960s and 1970s.
