Tindersticks is an English alternative rock band formed in Nottingham in 1991. Known for their distinctive sound and emotive style, they released six albums before singer Stuart A. Staples pursued a solo career. After a brief break, the group reunited in 2006 and have continued making music since. Tindersticks are also recognized for their film soundtracks and their long-standing collaboration with French director Claire Denis.
