Tremolo Screws

Tremolo screws are small replacement parts that a Floyd Rose system needs for tuning and locking. On this page, you’ll find fine-tuning screws, string-lock screws, saddle mounting screws, and clamping and mounting screws for locking nuts. They are all made by Floyd Rose for the Original, 1000 Series, Special, FRX and Rail Tail series or for 7-string tremolos. You can replace a lost or worn screw individually while leaving the bridge on your guitar.

Which tremolo screws do you need?

• Fine-tuning screws (Fine Tuning): These let you make fine adjustments to a string’s tuning directly at the bridge.
• String-lock screws (String Lock): These hold the string in the saddle.
• Saddle mounting screws (Saddle Mounting): These secure the saddle to the bridge.
• Nut clamping screws (Nut Clamping): These lock the strings at the nut. A pack contains 3 screws, or 4 for a 7-string nut.
• Nut mounting screws (Nut Mounting): These secure the locking nut to the guitar neck and usually come in packs of 2.
• Block mounting screws (Tremolo Block Mounting): Three screws hold the tremolo block to the base plate.
• String retainer screws (String Retainer): Two screws secure the string retainer behind the nut.

The first three types are usually sold in packs of 6, or packs of 7 for a 7-string tremolo.

How do you choose screws for your Floyd Rose series?

Start with your tremolo’s series, as many sets are designed for just one system. FRX screws fit only the FRX tremolo: these include a stop screw for setting the bridge flush with the guitar body and two screws for adjusting the action height. Rail Tail has its own arm screw and a set of 12 screws for adjusting saddle height.

Non-Fine Tuner sets are for tremolos without fine tuners. Older Original and 1984 bridges attach to the guitar body with two wood screws, which you’ll also find on this page.

Steel, titanium or brass?

The standard sets are made of steel and come in different finishes, such as black, chrome, nickel or gold, to match the bridge. Stainless steel offers better corrosion resistance. Titanium screws are light, do not rust, and are made as string-lock screws, saddle mounting screws, nut clamping screws and block mounting screws.

The coloured Color Stainless Steel sets are made of heat-treated stainless steel and change the look of the bridge with blue, green, pink, purple, red, gold or the Burnt Chrome finish. Fine-tuning screws are also made of brass.
