Wardruna is a Norwegian music group founded in 2003 by Einar Selvik, together with Gaahl and Lindy-Fay Hella. Drawing inspiration from Norse cultural and esoteric traditions, they craft atmospheric music using traditional Nordic instruments such as frame drums, flutes, mouth harp, kraviklyra, goat horn, and lur, as well as natural sounds like water, stones, and fire. Their albums explore themes rooted in ancient runes and Norse myths, with their first three records focusing on runic symbols and their fourth inspired by the sayings of Odin. The name Wardruna translates as "the guardian of secrets" or "she who whispers".
