The Yamaha AS-7CM is an alto saxophone mouthpiece from Yamaha's Custom series, sculpted from selected ebonite — a hard rubber prized for deep resonance and timbral character close to natural wood. Each piece is shaped by experienced Yamaha craftsmen, from blank pre-forming through to the final carving of the baffle and chamber. The 7CM tip opening is the widest in the Custom lineup.

Players moving up from a Yamaha 4C or 5C will notice a bigger, warmer sound with strong intonation stability. The wider tip pairs comfortably with softer reeds, so a #2 strength reed still produces a vibrant, focused tone without choking. Works well for jazz, big band, and ensemble settings.
