The longer body makes the BP28L particularly effective for outdoor location recording and broadcast news gathering where the maximum possible reach from the microphone to the subject is needed to maintain separation from ambient noise.

Extended Interference Tube

The longer tube of the BP28L increases the effective angle of rejection for mid and high frequencies, providing a tighter polar pattern than the short BP28 in the frequency range most critical for speech intelligibility. This narrower pattern allows boom operators to work at greater distances from the subject while maintaining an adequate signal-to-noise ratio.

The BP28L operates on 48V phantom power and delivers the low self-noise and high sensitivity demanded by broadcast standards.
