Hexagon acoustic panels

Hexagon acoustic panels are six-sided absorbers that cut echo and reverberation on a wall and turn it into a striking decoration at the same time. Here you'll find the foam ranges HoneyFoam and HoneyFoamPRO as well as HexaPET panels made of recycled PET felt from the Mega Acoustic brand, plus the foam Acoustic Hexagon from Veles-X. They suit a home studio, a gaming room, a rehearsal room or a living room. The hexagons fit together precisely, so you can build a surface in a shape of your own, even from several colours.

Foam or PET felt – which hexagon acoustic panels should you choose?

  • HoneyFoam – acoustic foam hexagons measuring 45 × 39 cm and 2, 3 or 5 cm thick, in grey, orange, red and green. They are lightweight and can be mounted on walls as well as ceilings.
  • HoneyFoamPRO – foam bonded to an HDF board, in the same 45 × 39 cm size and thicknesses of 2, 3 and 5 cm, in white or in oak and rosewood finishes. These also go on both walls and ceilings.
  • HexaPET – larger 52.5 × 42.5 cm hexagons made of recycled PET felt with mineral wool inside, 3, 5 or 7 cm thick and in up to 14 colours. They are mounted on the wall.

What thickness of hexagonal panel do you need?

Panels 2 to 5 cm thick mainly absorb high frequencies: sibilance, speech echo and harsh reflections, which are what you hear most in a gaming room or living room. HexaPET at 7 cm and the HexaPET-GP range also reach into the mid frequencies according to the manufacturer's specifications, which makes them a good fit for a studio or rehearsal room. Deep bass in the corners of a room calls for bass traps, which thin hexagons cannot replace.

Do hexagonal panels also reduce noise from the neighbours?

No. Hexagonal panels treat the sound inside a room – they shorten reverberation and echo, so voices, playing and recordings sound clearer. They won't stop noise travelling to your neighbours or coming from them; that is a job for structural soundproofing. The foam HoneyFoam and HoneyFoamPRO panels can also go on the ceiling, and you'll find more models among the acoustic ceiling panels. To fix the panels in place, use adhesives and accessories for acoustic panels.
